Where did Fidel supposedly mention a constitutional change to create a new position? I missed that. It's an interesting idea but seems unlikely. Cuba has enough positions.
ReplyDeleteOn a practical level, Fidel is in charge today - behind the scenes. The people want to see him and say goodbye at the right time. But I don't think Fidel would like the spectacle of a final lap. Maybe he is so pleased at the way things are going that he is content to stay hidden and healthy?
But if I had to bet, I'd stay consistent and take the word of Alarcon, who said Fidel will run for his Assembly seat again.
