It's over
Yoani Sanchez reports from the hospital in Santa Clara that Guillermo Farinas is ending his hunger strike.
Miscelaneas de Cuba: Gisela Delgado, also present in Santa Clara, confirms that report and reports that the local bishop visited Farinas last night to inform him of yesterday’s developments.
wonderful news because you were worried for Farinas or because his death would have made the Castros look bad.
I am thankful that it is over for Farinas. I hope he is able to recover.
I also hope that the prisoners that are freed are not being sent into exile forcefully. If they want to leave, I couldn't blame them, but I hope it is their choice. I find it odd that their wishes or desires have not been taken into account.
Wonderful news!
