USAID's adventures in covert action

In today’s Herald, an article of mine on the Alan Gross case, and why USAID should not be in the covert action business.

Good article, fair and balanced with the key point being Gross violated Cuban law, and that has to be taken for what it is.
RE Obama, he has great public perception of moving towards a saner public stance towards Cuba, meanwhile the basic mentality remains. And that is demanding change within Cuba, maintaining the same support for overall policy that has been such a failure. And reports indicate he is making it far worse for Cuban govt to conduct banking transfers without penalties being imposed, in whatever currency used. Obama has been a disappointment and should not be judged solely on the extremism of his immediate predecessor.
