Is the big guy coming back to the office?
The Economist Intelligence Unit discusses Castro’s health, economic policy management, cabinet reshuffling, and the generational change that is taking place regardless of what happens at the very top.

Where did Fidel supposedly mention a constitutional change to create a new position? I missed that. It's an interesting idea but seems unlikely. Cuba has enough positions.
On a practical level, Fidel is in charge today - behind the scenes. The people want to see him and say goodbye at the right time. But I don't think Fidel would like the spectacle of a final lap. Maybe he is so pleased at the way things are going that he is content to stay hidden and healthy?
But if I had to bet, I'd stay consistent and take the word of Alarcon, who said Fidel will run for his Assembly seat again.
